Luis Castañon

Project Architect

Luis Castañon is a skilled Project Architect with six years of experience in architectural design, currently working toward licensure in the state of Illinois. He holds a Bachelor’s in Architectural Science and a Master’s in Architecture from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he graduated with honors and was awarded the 2017 AIA Student of the Year.

Luis brings a wealth of expertise in healthcare and senior living housing projects, including several for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs across VA facilities nationwide. His project portfolio also includes renovations of critical healthcare spaces in Illinois and Wisconsin, such as CT scan rooms, blood labs, and sterilization departments. From client meetings to leading design and coordinating construction documents, Luis has managed projects at all phases, ensuring successful outcomes for his clients.

In addition to architecture, Luis has experience as a Project Design Engineer, where he designed Radio Frequency test chambers for private and governmental technology institutions around the globe.

Originally from Mexico, Luis moved to Chicago at age 13. His passion for architecture was inspired by his family’s construction background, and it continues to drive his work today.

Outside of work, Luis enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have three children—one daughter and two sons, including a four-month-old—and are joined by their German Shepherd, Nova, and pit bull, Gucci. Together, they love taking road trips, with memorable drives to Las Vegas twice with both kids and dogs along for the adventure. Luis is also passionate about cars and enjoys working on them with his father.

An avid soccer fan, Luis recently co-founded a youth soccer club where he coaches 30 young players, including his son, who inspired him to start the club.
